Job summary

OGS Machining in Akron, OH is seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Setup/Operator for night shift. You will primarily set up and run Star CNC Swiss-type lathes, ensuring parts meet specifications and documenting changes for repeatability.

We require at least 5 years’ unaided experience on CNC Swiss Lathe machines and a strong eye for precision. Overtime Fridays may be required; standard hours are 4x10s, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience setting up CNC Swiss Lathe machines in a job shop environment.
• Solid understanding of measuring and inspecting complex parts to blueprint specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC Swiss-type lathes for production turning.
• Document new program changes and processes to ensure repeatable setups.
• Oversee the quality of parts produced in the machining cell.
• Share expertise and knowledge throughout the Swiss department.
• Perform daily and weekly maintenance on machine shop equipment.
• Set up machines on a flexible basis to maximize output.
• Communicate issues to day shift personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
