Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville seeks a Neurodiagnostic Technologist 2 to perform routine and advanced EEG studies for diverse neurological conditions, joining a supportive EEG and Epilepsy team with independence and collaboration.

The role requires organizing an independent workload, mentoring newer technologists, and contributing to high-quality patient care in an on-site outpatient lab, with a Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited medical education program such as CVT, EMT, Paramedic, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Sonography, or Associate’s Degree in Health Sciences.
• 2+ years of clinical patient care experience preferred.
• ACLS certification; preparing for PALS, with manager discretion.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced EEG studies per established protocols.
• Review patient history and tailor a patient-centered approach for each study.
• Explain procedures clearly and adapt communication to patient needs.
• Obtain technically accurate, clinically useful recordings across diverse populations.
• Identify and troubleshoot artifact, equipment, electrode, and recording challenges.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and communicate with physicians and healthcare professionals.
• Manage daily workload independently and recognize priorities.
• Mentor developing EEG technologists and share best practices.
• Remain adaptable and learn UVA Health workflows and protocols.
