UVA Health is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist 1 (EEG) to join its Neurodiagnostics team in Charlottesville. The role combines hands-on EEG/evoked potential testing with patient-centered care for adults and children within an academic health system.

You will work with neurologists and epilepsy specialists, receiving paid specialized training and opportunities for long‑term career growth. The position emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and ongoing learning in a leading university

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in patient environment preferred, preferably with a pediatric population.
• Enrollment in or graduation from CAHEP program or an Associate’s Degree is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform EEG and Evoked Potential studies on pediatric and adult patients.
• Review patient histories and prepare patients for testing.
• Explain procedures to patients and families to reduce anxiety and improve understanding.
• Apply electrodes and obtain high-quality diagnostic recordings.
• Monitor studies and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
• Document findings accurately and maintain quality standards.
• Collaborate with physicians to support diagnosis and care planning.
• Deliver excellent patient experiences in outpatient and inpatient settings.
