Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist 1 (EEG) to perform EEG and Evoked Potential studies, review patient histories, explain procedures, apply electrodes, and document findings. You will work with neurologists and care teams to support diagnosis and care planning in a dynamic clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or an Associate’s Degree required.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in patient environments preferred, pediatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform EEG and Evoked Potential studies on pediatric and adult patients.
• Review patient histories and prepare patients for testing.
• Explain procedures to patients and families while helping reduce anxiety and improve understanding.
• Apply electrodes and obtain high-quality diagnostic recordings.
• Monitor studies and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
• Document findings accurately and ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Partner closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and care planning.
• Deliver exceptional patient experiences across outpatient and inpatient settings.
