Job summary

Ceribell is seeking a data scientist/algorithm engineer to design state-of-the-art EEG classification algorithms for neurodiagnostics. You will work on time-series analysis, signal processing, and machine learning to advance seizure detection capabilities in acute care settings.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of research/industry experience in signal processing and ML.
• Proficient in Python and/or Matlab and/or R.
• Experience with biological signal processing and biomedical applications.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative mindset.
• Experience with large-scale datasets in biomedical contexts.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage complex projects from concept to deployment.
• Experience with deep learning architectures (CNNs, RNNs) for time-series data.
• Strong preference for EEG data processing and algorithm development.

Responsibilities

• Design classification algorithms using time-series analysis, signal processing, and ML.
• Analyze data trends, interpret findings with clear objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project needs and communicate results.
• Select evaluation metrics balancing technical accuracy and clinical relevance.
• Document and validate models to meet regulatory requirements for medical devices.
• Mentor junior data scientists and interns, providing technical direction.
• Manage multiple projects with prioritization aligned to milestones.
• Stay updated with ML and neurodiagnostics advancements to keep algorithms state-of-the-art.
