Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks a Sr. Network Development Engineer for the Customer Terminal team in Redmond.

You will define architectures for customer terminals, simulate RF tradeoffs, and develop integrated software/firmware for lab verification, while ensuring hardware/software validation meets performance and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with internal and external partners across hardware, RF, antenna, and firmware domains, own integration and verification,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 5+ years Linux/Unix environment experience.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or other relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of satellite terminal development, integration, and validation experience.
• 3+ years of hardware design and validation of components and subsystems.
• Strong understanding of communication systems, RF, and phased array antenna.
• Experience in MATLAB, Python or C++.
• Familiarity with test instruments such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, channel emulators, network emulators, and GNSS emulators.
• 5+ years of experience in development for complex telecommunication, antenna, and/or satellite communication systems development.

Responsibilities

• Define CT systems architectures and specifications.
• Design tradeoffs of CT architectures including RF and performance simulation.
• Develop integration & test Software & Firmware for lab verification measurements.
• Develop, maintain, and support customer terminal validation hardware and software.
• Proactive engagement with internal and external development partners on Systems’ hardware and software architectures and implementation.
• Ensure delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory and business requirements.
• Perform in-field test and validation of various CT architectures.
• Traveling up to 20% of the time, depending on project phases.
