Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Sr. Network/Systems Engineer (TS/SCI w/poly) in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and integrating complex data network solutions for enterprise and cloud environments while translating customer requirements into scalable technical designs.

Responsibilities include end-to-end network engineering, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical solutions with high availability and optimized performance.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of Network and/or Systems Engineering experience on similar programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Network/Systems Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
• Experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
• Experience translating customer requirements into technical designs.
• Experience designing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise networks.
• Experience developing network architecture diagrams, specifications, and design docs.
• Experience with routers, firewalls, hubs, and gateways.
• Experience with high-availability and failover designs for enterprise customers.
• Experience with Cisco technologies including ASA, Nexus, Catalyst, and ASR platforms.
• Experience with GRE tunnels, MPLS, VPNs, NAT, firewall contexts, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst 6500 series and Nexus platforms (9332, 9336, 9508).
• Experience performing redundancy testing in Cisco-based networks.

Responsibilities

• Support Cloud Network Operations with end-to-end network engineering.
• Translate customer requirements into scalable network designs for enterprise and cloud environments.
• Design, implement, and integrate complex data network solutions across systems and platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering and network teams to deliver customer-driven solutions.
• Produce detailed network architecture documentation and specifications.
• Recommend hardware, techniques, and tooling to meet current and future capacity needs.
• Design and implement failover and high-availability solutions for mission-critical environments.
• Support server infrastructures with load balancing, VPNs, NAT, and firewall contexts.
