Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Network Security Tools Engineer to join our cybersecurity team in Suitland, MD. You will administer, engineer, and optimize enterprise security tools across a mission-critical environment.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of relevant experience, an active TS/SCI clearance, and hands-on expertise with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security. Collaboration with SOC, network, and engineering teams is essential to ensure reliable data for threat

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, cybersecurity, IT or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance in DISS.
• Hands-on experience supporting information security and enterprise tools.
• Strong networking concepts and protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S.
• Experience with enterprise cybersecurity technologies such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Wireshark, SteelCloud.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, administer, upgrade, and maintain enterprise security tools and platforms (SIEM, firewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS, EDR).
• Monitor health, availability, performance, and data ingestion of cybersecurity tools.
• Troubleshoot security tool performance, connectivity, integration, and data collection issues.
• Support integration of security technologies across networks, systems, and platforms.
• Collaborate with SOC teams to optimize tools, tune detections, and reduce false positives.
• Provide technical support during cybersecurity incidents and outages.
• Support automation of cybersecurity tools using scripting/orchestration
• Analyze telemetry to identify gaps and improve visibility
• Maintain architecture diagrams, configurations, and runbooks.
