Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer in Washington, DC to lead firewall and perimeter security initiatives across on-premises and multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure). Qualifications

• > Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• > 11+ years of dedicated cybersecurity engineering experience, focusing on enterprise network and firewall security.
• > Advanced hands-on administration of Palo Alto Networks firewalls in complex enterprise environments.
• > Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, WAN/LAN architectures, and perimeter defense concepts.
• > Experience managing IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, DLP, CASB, and WAF solutions.
• > Direct experience securing cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
• > Scripting and automating security workflows using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• > Understanding of NIST, CIS, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001.

Responsibilities

• > Perimeter & Firewall Administration: design, configure, and optimize Palo Alto firewalls and perimeter platforms.
• > Network Infrastructure Security: manage WAF, IDS/IPS, VPNs, NAC technologies.
• > Cloud & Hybrid Security Integration: work with cloud teams across AWS and Azure.
• > Threat Mitigation & Operations: analyze incidents, monitor SIEM, threat hunting, and forensics.
• > Risk Assessment & Compliance: conduct security reviews against NIST, CIS, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO standards.
• > Automation & Engineering: build automation scripts using Python/PowerShell/Bash.
• > Documentation & Strategy: maintain runbooks, diagrams, SOPs for security strategy.
• > Technical Leadership: guide project teams and mentor junior engineers.
• > Operational Support: participate in maintenance, after-hours work, incident response.
