Job summary

Axcelis Technologies in Beverly, MA seeks a Senior Network Administrator to design, monitor, and secure our enterprise network. You will lead implementations across LAN/WAN, data center, and wireless, ensuring high availability and strong incident response capabilities.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with Systems, DevOps, and Applications teams, and participate in on-call rotations and travel related to mergers and acquisitions as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in network administration.
• Expertise in enterprise network design, implementation, and management.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, 802.1X, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and other network protocols.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, NAC.
• Proficiency in diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wireless, VPN, Data Center).
• Configuration and troubleshooting of network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and OT network devices.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, SOPs and policies.
• Oversee network hardware/software upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Identify and mitigate network security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Administer firewalls (Fortinet preferred), NAC, SIEM, and VPN solutions.
• Monitor network traffic and logs for anomalies and threats.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure secure integration of new technologies and services.
• Mentor junior administrators and serve as a subject matter expert.
• Lead strategic planning and technical discussions for network initiatives.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
• Some travel might be needed with mergers and acquisitions.
