Job summary

Noblis is seeking a TIS Security Engineer to provide expert-level security engineering across the FAA’s FTI environment. You will analyze network architecture and harden systems per federal standards while guiding architectural decisions and technology transitions.

The role emphasizes defense-in-depth, Zero Trust concepts, SD-WAN, and collaboration with cyber stakeholders to support ATO packages and continuous monitoring. Remote/hybrid work options may apply depending on program needs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government programs, ideally within the FAA or transportation sector.
• Hands-on network engineering or architecture experience with boundary protection design, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, IPv4/IPv6, WAN/LAN environments.
• Understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST RMF, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 rev 5).
• Ability to evaluate network and system security concepts for large-scale, safety-critical systems like NAS.
• Comfort advising on defense-in-depth architectures, Zero Trust CONOPS, SD-WANs, and emerging tech.
• Experience collaborating with System Engineers, PMs, and cybersecurity stakeholders to support ATO packages and continuous monitoring.
• Ability to develop system security plans, risk assessments, and related security documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and guide network architecture to ensure cybersecurity built-in from the ground up.
• Perform hands-on reviews of system configs, firewall rules, and network paths vs FAA standards and NIST.
• Lead transitions of technologies (IPv4 to IPv6, microwave refreshes) from cybersecurity and network view.
• Support Zero Trust, SDN, and defense-in-depth strategies in enterprise solutions.
• Serve as a bridge between FAA cyber stakeholders and infrastructure providers.
• Evaluate vendor architectures and provide expert recommendations based on policy and best practices.
