Job summary

Noblis is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join the FAA Telecommunications and Integrated Services group. The role focuses on architecture-level security, guiding network design, and ensuring compliance with federal standards.

You will analyze configurations, support Zero Trust and SD-WAN adoption, and collaborate with cyber stakeholders to secure NAS environments. Ideal candidates have 9+ years in cybersecurity or network security, and the ability to obtain FAA Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government programs, ideally FAA or transportation.
• Hands-on network engineering or architecture with boundary protection design, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 in WAN/LAN environments.
• Familiarity with NIST RMF, FISMA, and NIST SP 800-53 rev 5.
• Ability to evaluate network and system security concepts for NAS.
• Experience advising on defense-in-depth architectures, Zero Trust CONOPS, SD-WANs and emerging tech.
• Experience with ATO packages and continuous monitoring support.
• Ability to develop system security plans and risk assessments.
• Need U.S. Citizen or Green Card permanent resident with residency
• Ability to obtain FAA Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and guide network architecture to embed cybersecurity from ground up.
• Perform hands-on reviews of system configurations, firewall rules, and network paths.
• Lead technology transitions (IPv4 to IPv6, microwave refreshes) from cyber/architecture view.
• Support integration of Zero Trust, SDN, and defense-in-depth into enterprise solutions.
• Bridge FAA cyber stakeholders and infrastructure providers (network, security, cloud).
• Evaluate proposed architectures and recommend based on federal policy and best practices.
