Job summary

Noblis seeks a highly technical TIS Security Engineer to support FAA Telecommunications and Integrated Services. You will apply security architecture principles to harden systems and guide secure network designs in complex environments.

Responsibilities include evaluating configurations against NIST/FISMA requirements, transitioning to modern protocols, and integrating Zero Trust and SDN concepts while collaborating with cyber and infrastructure teams for ATO packages and continuous monitoring.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government programs, ideally within the FAA or transportation sector.
• Hands-on network engineering or architecture with boundary protection design, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS.
• Knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 and WAN/LAN environments.
• Understand federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST RMF, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 rev 5).
• Ability to evaluate network and system security concepts for large‑scale, safety‑critical systems like NAS.
• Comfortable advising on defense‑in‑depth architectures, Zero Trust CONOPS, SD‑WANs and emerging tech.
• Experience collaborating with System Engineers, PMs, and cybersecurity stakeholders to support ATO packages.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and guide network architecture to embed cybersecurity from the ground up.
• Review system configurations, firewall rules, and network paths to align with FAA standards.
• Lead transitions (IPv4 to IPv6, microwave refreshes) from cyber‑security and architecture views.
• Support the integration of Zero Trust, SDN, and defense‑in‑depth strategies into enterprise solutions.
• Act as a technical bridge between FAA cyber stakeholders and infrastructure providers.
