Cook County Health is seeking an experienced Network Manager to lead its Network Engineering and Unified Communications teams, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable enterprise network services across the healthcare system.

The role oversees design, implementation, and operations, partnering with IT Security and leadership to drive strategic plans and cost optimization while coaching staff and driving best practices in a complex hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Seven years of professional experience supporting LAN, WAN, and VoIP environments.
• Five years of IT management experience in healthcare.
• Three years of supervising Unified Communications staff.
• Experience building or managing a Network Operations function with monitoring and availability.
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, design, and information security.
• Project-management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Network Engineering and Unified Communications teams.
• Establish standards, documentation, and performance expectations.
• Design and support enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, VoIP, VPN, internet, and intranet services.
• Oversee Network Operations, monitoring, alerts, availability, and performance.
• Maintain accurate diagrams and technical documentation.
• Lead architecture decisions considering security, reliability, and scalability.
• Partner with IT Security and other teams to define network requirements.
• Develop strategic network plans for growth and upgrades.
• Serve as product owner for enterprise network services.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Set performance goals and provide coaching and development.
