Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to oversee global data centers, networks, and servers. You will collaborate with data center teams, coordinate hardware deployments, and help ensure availability and security of the world's most distributed platform from Cloud to Edge.

Ideal candidates have extensive hardware and Linux administration experience, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills to support 24/7 operations across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in a NOC environment with hands-on hardware experience.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and networking equipment.
• Solid troubleshooting skills in a large-scale data center environment.
• Understanding of Linux system administration, server administration, and internals.
• Professional problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploying and repairing servers, storage systems, routers, switches, and other hardware.
• Installing hardware, cabling, firmware, and software both on-site and remotely.
• Managing hardware decommission projects, including hardware disposal and data destruction.
• Shipping and receiving networking equipment to maintain network availability and reliability.
• Performing project work for data center migrations and hardware platform upgrades.
• Coordinating data center deployments from hardware requests to rack design.
