Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to oversee global data center operations.

You will monitor and maintain data centers, networks, and servers worldwide, interacting with Network Operations Centers via phone, email, and web portals. The role focuses on deploying and repairing hardware, installing firmware and software, and coordinating hardware deployments for migrations and upgrades in a large-scale environment.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree required.
• Hands-on hardware experience in a NOC environment.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and networking equipment.
• Solid troubleshooting skills in large-scale data centers.
• Understanding of Linux system/ server administration and internals.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploying and repairing servers, storage, routers, switches, and other hardware.
• Installing hardware, cabling, firmware, and software on-site and remotely.
• Managing hardware decommission projects including disposal and data destruction.
• Shipping and receiving networking equipment to maintain availability and reliability.
• Executing data center migrations and hardware platform upgrades.
• Coordinating data center deployments from hardware requests to rack design.
