Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to oversee operations in global data centers, ensuring hardware, networks and servers run reliably.

You will coordinate data center deployments, migrations and upgrades, working closely with on-site technicians and NOC teams. Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Hands-on hardware experience in a NOC environment.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and networking equipment.
• Solid troubleshooting skills in a large-scale data center environment.
• Understanding of Linux system administration, server administration, and internals.
• Professional problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploying and repairing servers, storage systems, routers, switches, and other hardware.
• Installing hardware, cabling, firmware, and software both on-site and remotely.
• Managing hardware decommission projects, including hardware disposal and data destruction.
• Shipping and receiving networking equipment to maintain network availability and reliability.
• Performing project work for data center migrations and hardware platform upgrades.
• Coordinating data center deployments from hardware requests to rack design.
