Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks an experienced Network Engineer to evaluate and enhance a large-scale wired and wireless network infrastructure, including software and hardware components.

You will work with state/local government personnel and vendors to implement secure, scalable solutions, perform testing and vulnerability assessments, and provide guidance on best practices. This role links closely with the NPS environment and enterprise IT operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline is preferred.
• CWNA or BCNE certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools (Ekahau, RF scanners, Wireshark).
• Strong knowledge of layer 2/3 networks (VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP).
• Network security concepts: 802.1x, MAC auth, ACLs, RADIUS, CA.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the network infrastructure for the organization’s environment.
• Improve monitoring and reporting using network management software.
• Develop, maintain, and deliver network diagrams and documentation.
• Review current best practices and provide architecture recommendations.
• Define and conduct testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to IT staff.
