Job summary

General Dynamics IT in Herndon, VA is seeking a Network Engineer to design and deliver secure IT infrastructure solutions for customer sites. The role requires extensive experience with LAN/WAN, firewalls, and network devices.

You will provide technical oversight, define implementation plans, and ensure security and cost efficiency while collaborating with systems admins, storage teams, and developers. An active TS/SCI with Poly is required.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance required.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or 14 years of related experience.
10+ years of network engineering experience.
Experience configuring Cisco ASA/NGFW and LAN/WAN devices.
US citizenship required.
Ability to design and implement secure network solutions.

Responsibilities

Design technical solutions for complex problems.
Provide technical oversight of project solutions.
Define processes to support implementation of requirements.
Ensure security posture and optimize total cost of ownership.
Mentor junior network engineers.
Plan capacity, configure systems, monitor backups, and install hardware/software.
Coordinate with systems administrators, storage, and application developers.
