Job summary

Caribou Thunder seeks a Network Engineer at Level 3 to support mission-critical space operations. The role involves designing, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure enabling secure communications between satellites and ground systems.

The candidate will manage Cisco routing, Palo Alto security, VMware private cloud, and Linux/UNIX environments, with a strong focus on performance, security, and reliability in high-consequence settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Active Top Secret clearance or DOE Q clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain TS/SCI access.
• Current DoD 8570 baseline certification.
• Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure in operational environments.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience supporting Palo Alto firewalls and enterprise security architectures.
• Knowledge of VMware virtualized environments and private cloud technologies.
• Experience operating Linux and UNIX systems.
• Experience using network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, iPerf.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across satellite and ground systems.
• Analyze traffic patterns, speeds, packet flow, throughput, and connectivity.
• Configure, deploy, upgrade, and administer multi-vendor network equipment.
• Install, modify, and support routers, switches, firewalls, and related components.
• Support Cisco routing and switching environments and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Administer Identity Services Engine (ISE) and network access controls.
• Operate Linux and UNIX systems in enterprise environments.
• Use monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Support private cloud and VMware Cloud Foundation environments.
• Develop and maintain network topology diagrams and IP records.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on remediation and security improvements.
• Provide after-hours support when needed.
