Job summary

Blue Origin in Reston, Virginia is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the flight network infrastructure supporting the Blue Ring Mission Operations Center. You will work on automation frameworks, multi‑vendor environments, and high‑assurance spaceflight networks.

This role requires a BS in a related field, 8+ years in networking, experience with TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF/IS‑IS, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• BS in computer engineering, electrical engineering, CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience architecting, developing and deploying scalable network infrastructure.
• Experience installing, configuring, and monitoring network devices.
• Experience managing configurations in multi-vendor environments.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS; routing protocols like BGP/OSPF/IS-IS; services DHCP/DNS/NTP.
• Experience coding in Python, Go, Rust, C++ or similar.
• Highly organized team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess and maintain a Top Secret / SCI Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Establish standardized network design practices across In‑Space‑Systems sites and design scalable network solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for network deployment across multi‑vendor environments.
• Develop, secure, and maintain network equipment to support mission operations.
• Monitor network performance and health dashboards; perform root cause analysis.
• Support network capacity planning and lifecycle management across enterprise environments.
