Job summary

The University of Georgia's Enterprise Information Technology Services is seeking a senior Network Administrator to support and advance the university’s campus networking infrastructure. This on-site role focuses on enterprise-grade services across a large, multi-campus environment with 80K+ nodes and security-conscious operations.

You will plan, deploy, and troubleshoot network systems, collaborate with teams, and maintain documentation while adhering to security and reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience.
• Experience implementing and supporting large networks.
• Preferred: wireless, firewalls, load balancers, IPAM, or VPNs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, and maintain network systems and applications that provide mission critical central services.
• Implement and manage enterprise network services and firewall services.
• Perform long-range capacity planning to determine resources needed for projected needs.
• Initial setup, software installation, testing, and security hardening of network and security systems.
• Maintain software and perform updates, testing and documentation.
• Work with other departments to implement and support critical network services.
• Patch systems and monitor production systems; schedule backups and recover as needed.
