Job summary

Mercury Insurance is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to lead advanced design and multi‑cloud integration across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will drive automation, deliver secure, high‑performance networking, and mentor engineers in a 24x7 operation.

The role emphasizes architecture, cross‑domain implementations, and scalable solutions with Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions, while collaborating with Security and Platform teams to meet roadmaps and budgets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years progressive network engineering experience.
• 3+ years designing and operating cloud provider networks (AWS VPC, Azure, hybrid connectivity).
• Hands-on automation experience (Infrastructure-as-Code, scripting, GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Engineer and optimize complex hybrid on-prem/multi-cloud network topologies for performance, resiliency and cost efficiency.
• Develop and refine reusable automation playbooks and templates to standardize provisioning.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting and post-incident reviews for high severity issues.
• Coordinate interdependencies with Security, Platform, Storage, Application and Telecom teams to ensure cohesive delivery.
