Qualifications

• At least 10 years of Network Engineer level technical expertise with design, troubleshooting, and management of medium- or large-sized complex enterprise TCP/IP networks.
• Bachelor's degree in technical field or four years of additional expertise.
• Experience managing large projects, including technical and non-technical aspects.
• Excellent customer service focus, collaborative approach to troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Expert knowledge of enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, wireless, and security.
• Experience with VoIP services, telephony.
• Experience with network management tools.
• A security-first approach to deploying services.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the Network Engineering team and oversee departmental projects with university-wide impact.
• Plan and implement connectivity to high-speed regional networks and maintain Internet and national phone network connectivity.
• Collaborate with the CTO to allocate resources and oversee major projects and timelines for design, installation and upgrades.
• Engage with internal customers to resolve issues and partner with external providers to contract and implement services.
• Mentor staff and advocate for staff development and training.
