Job summary

Harvard University is seeking a Project Manager – Network Infrastructure to lead end-to-end delivery of campus network projects, coordinating with Network Engineering, security, facilities, and vendors to ensure on-scope, on-schedule, and on-budget outcomes.

The role emphasizes execution discipline, documentation, and collaboration across schools and central IT, with a hybrid onsite work model and opportunities to influence enterprise network strategy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ progressive project management experience, including IT or network infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, vendors, and resources across multiple concurrent projects.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, wireless, structured cabling, data center connectivity).
• Strong knowledge of ITIL or equivalent service management frameworks.
• Experience developing and reporting on project status, schedules, and budgets for technical stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and coordination skills across diverse technical and non-technical groups.
• Experience in higher education IT environments strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain clear project and service definitions for assigned network work, including scope, ownership, dependencies, and escalation paths.
• Establish and monitor schedule and risk indicators for network projects (design completion milestones, procurement lead times, site readiness, cutover windows).
• Coordinate with information security, data privacy, and platform teams to align project plans with security policies.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and vendor performance; prepare status updates for leadership and stakeholders.
• Balance discretionary and operational workloads while ensuring network projects support reliability and scalability.
• Support post-project reviews and implement process improvements for future initiatives.
