Job summary

First Interstate Bank is seeking a Network Engineer II to design, implement, and support its LAN/WAN and Unified Communications infrastructure across multiple states. You will monitor performance, ensure security, and maintain high availability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include configuring routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP systems, and PBX; performing upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and documenting networks.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and VoIP technologies.
• Familiarity with contact center technologies and integrations.
• Understanding of SBCs and their role in securing VoIP traffic.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware and telecom solutions.
• Intermediate understanding of network security (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
• Experience with VoIP infrastructure, SIP/CTI, vendor support.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and provide effective solutions.
• Strong networking and communications hardware/software knowledge.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting.
• Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements network solutions including LANs and UC environments.
• Installs, configures, and maintains routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless systems, servers, PBX, SIP trunks, voice gateways.
• Participates in monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, contingency and recovery plans.
• Plans and executes upgrades with minimal business disruption.
• Monitors and optimizes network performance and security.
• Provides advanced network support and resolves complex connectivity issues.
• Collaborates with IT/security teams to protect against threats.
• Develops and maintains network documentation and diagrams.
• Leads capacity planning for scalability and performance.
