Job summary

Iridium is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, install, troubleshoot, and maintain our global ground network infrastructure. You will help deliver a fault-tolerant, scalable, and automated network supporting mission-critical systems across multiple sites.

In this hybrid role, you will install and configure Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, and AWS services, lead technical initiatives, and mentor junior team members while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or similar field.
• 8+ years of experience managing and maintaining mid-to-large scale LAN/WAN networks with Cisco Routers/Switches, Firewalls, and other vendors.
• Strong knowledge of MPLS, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols.
• Strong knowledge of OSI model, Spanning-Tree, VDC, VFR, VPC, and VSS.
• Excellent network troubleshooting and problem-solving in high-pressure environments.
• Ability to communicate with leadership and present solutions clearly.
• Capable of managing own tasks and deadlines with attention to policies and procedures.
• Analytical mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Use knowledge of Iridium technologies to support operations and engineering projects and provide improvement recommendations.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networking devices including Cisco routers/switches, firewalls, and AWS services.
• Provide technical assistance to Support on network traffic, latency, and performance issues.
• Maintain and operate mission-critical network infrastructure across multiple sites.
• Review work of junior team members and ensure documentation and configuration management compliance.
