Job summary

Iridium seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain the ground and related networks, delivering reliable, scalable infrastructure.You will install, troubleshoot, and optimize Cisco, AWS, and firewall components across multiple sites, while mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance.

The role offers a hybrid schedule (roughly 60% in-office) and a base pay range of $117,000 to $151,000 USD, with potential stock and bonuses; travel and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or similar field.
• 8+ years of experience managing and maintaining mid-to-large scale LAN/WAN networks devices.
• Strong knowledge of IP routing protocols (MPLS, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
• Experience with IP communications protocols (OSI model, Spanning‑Tree, VDC, VFR, VPC, VSS).
• Excellent network troubleshooting and problem-solving in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networking devices including Cisco ISR/ASR routers, Catalyst/Nexus switches, Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls, and AWS services.
• Lead and coordinate activities of other personnel; implement ideas to improve network availability, performance, and security.
• Provide technical assistance to Support teams on traffic congestion, latency, outages, and system performance issues.
• Maintain and document network infrastructure, audit logs, and compliance through CM rules.
• Research network products and standards to inform DevOps and network strategy.
