Job summary

KBR is seeking a Network Engineer in Colorado Springs to design, implement, maintain, and support our network infrastructure for DoD-relevant environments. You will ensure secure, scalable wired and wireless networks while supporting business and end-user requirements.

The role requires Top Secret/SCI eligibility, Cisco and VMware experience, SDN and IaC skills, and collaboration across DoW teams to advance DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Top Secret with SCI eligibility is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain JWIC, SAP/SAR clearance.
• BS/BA with 7–9 years of experience required.
• Proven Cisco networking hardware experience (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Experience in VMware environments.
• Proficient in LAN/WAN design and troubleshooting, including encrypted networks.
• Automation tools experience (Ansible, Python).
• SDN and IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiar with Change Management processes for network updates.
• Knowledge of DISN, SPARTAN or CANES systems and DoD networks.

Responsibilities

• Review and modernize WAN/MAN/LAN architectures.
• Lead design and sustainment of secure network architectures across development, test, and production environments.
• Collaborate with DoW engineers to integrate networking into the application lifecycle.
• Provide clear risk communication to stakeholders and leadership.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and incident response for network infrastructure.
• Develop and enforce network standards and baselines.
• Create architecture specifications and artifacts for network plans.
• Conduct cost/benefit analyses for hardware/software selections.

Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility

JWIC/SAP/SAR clearance ability

7–9 years experience with BS/BA
