Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises seeks a Network Engineer to design, implement, test, and maintain DoD and DoS network systems in Norfolk, VA. The role involves detailed network schematics, hardware/software selection, and ensuring secure, reliable operations across government networks.

Candidates should have a technical degree and relevant DoD certifications, with hands-on experience in security, testing, and network integration. This is an on-site role in Norfolk with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8+ years of DoD/network experience or 10+ years in designing, building, integrating, testing and maintaining network infrastructure.
• Cisco CCNA or Juniper JNCIA-Junos certification is required.
• Security+ Certification or DoD 8140-configuration aligned certification is required.
• Experience analyzing alternatives, validating system performance, and establishing security certifications/ATO for DoD systems.
• Familiarity with NEC requirements and practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide network architecture specifications and detailed schematics.
• Select hardware/software, implementation techniques and tools to meet mission needs.
• Conduct integration and testing of network designs and maintain configuration control.
• Maintain knowledge of routers, firewalls, switches and related network hardware.
• Manage end-to-end networks supporting mission operations and system upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues; support security requirements per DoD policy.
