Job summary

Leidos' Digital Modernization group seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, migrate, implement, enhance, optimize, and maintain infrastructure for the CESO program in Arlington, VA. On-site with occasional travel, U.S.

citizenship and TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly eligibility are required. Responsibilities include network integration, architecture development, vendor coordination, and ongoing operations in a DoD-focused environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree and 8–12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6–10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Active DOD TS/SCI clearance and eligibility to obtain/ maintain CI Poly.
• IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g. CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
• Ability to translate highly technical matters to a non‑technical audience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Technical depth in network services and architecture (WAN/LAN/VPN).
• Experience with Cisco Switches and Routers, DMVPNs, BGP, AWS networking, VPCs, Route 53, and AWS Firewall Services.
• Knowledge of ITIL Foundation and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and assist with network integration and consolidation across multiple systems environments.
• Prepare and review technical implementation plans with milestones, timelines, and critical paths.
• Address and resolve technical problems during installation and upgrades of network hardware and systems.
• Interface with customers, vendors, and other technical staff to analyze requirements (e.g., new circuits).
• Develop and document technical briefings, engineering standards, SOPs, and status reports for senior leadership.
• Participate in network architecture development and design changes.
• Evaluate current and emerging technologies and make recommendations.
• Collaborate with partners to de-conflict efforts and enhance efficiency and operability.
• Communicate with customers on matters of significant importance.
• Complete projects and tasks effectively.
