Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Network Engineer Deputy Team Lead to support enterprise-scale network infrastructure at JBAB in the Washington, DC area. You will lead shift workflows, ensure network availability, and uphold DoD STIGs across NIPR/SIPR environments.

Own escalation, incident resolution, and integration with carriers and vendors. Strong Cisco IOS/IOS-XE, EIGRP/OSPF/IS-IS, and encryptor experience required. Active DoD clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• BS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or MS with 6+ years.
• Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance.
• CCNA certification required; Security+ CE beneficial.
• Experience configuring VLANs, STP, and L2/L3 EtherChannels.
• Strong experience with EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS routing.
• Experience with KG-17XX encryptors and HAIPE devices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as alternate to Team Lead; manage shift workflows and priorities.
• Monitor enterprise network for alerts and anomalies with SOPs.
• Triage and remediate L1–L3 incidents using automated scripts.
• Escalate outages with logs to senior engineering teams.
• Provision and optimize routers, switches, and network appliances.
• Perform OS upgrades (Cisco IOS/IOS-XE) and firmware refreshes.
• Coordinate with carriers/vendors to troubleshoot circuits.
• Plan ASIs within command-change management processes.
• Apply DoW/STIGs; remediate vulnerabilities in DoD networks.
• Manage Type-1 INE encryptors (TACLANE) at PoPs using GEM-X.
• Adhere to COMSEC handling and two-person integrity rules.
• Lead modernization projects and lifecycle refreshes.
• Support on-call rotations for rapid outage response.
