Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. IT Network Engineer in Hawthorne, CA to design, deploy, and manage campus and data center networks, including wireless infrastructure and NAC implementations.

The role focuses on hands-on troubleshooting, automation, and documentation to ensure reliable and secure connectivity across SpaceX facilities.

Applicants should have strong routing/switching experience, 802.1X NAC, BGP, Python scripting, and certifications (CCNP/CCIE or equivalents) are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other STEM discipline and 7+ of years professional network engineering experience; OR 10+ years of professional network engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Expert understanding of the OSI model and network standards.
• Experience with Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and troubleshooting of large-scale, complex wired and wireless networks.
• Configure, install, and support campus and data center networks.
• Troubleshoot wired/wireless networking related issues.
• Support the deployment of network access control (NAC) using 802.1X.
• Develop and enforce network policies and standards.
• Plan and prepare project roadmaps.
• Develop network automation tools to support our enterprise network.
• Monitor network health using in-house and 3rd party tools.
• Create and maintain proper documentation of our networks.
