Job summary

Mirantis, an IREN company, seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, build, and operate the network for internal AI labs and the broader corporate infrastructure. The role is based in Silicon Valley with regular on-site presence at the datacenter.

You will collaborate with IT, Security, and engineering teams, implement high-throughput, secure networking, and contribute to standards, documentation, and automation to scale the function.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Network Engineering role.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating switching and routing in datacenter and/or colocation environments.
• Experience with firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and network segmentation.
• Willingness to work on-site in a datacenter and coordinate contractor work.
• Server hardware knowledge: provisioning, firmware/BMC management, and physical troubleshooting.
• Experience with cloud and hybrid connectivity (AWS interconnects, VPN, SD-WAN).
• Knowledge of network monitoring and observability tools for capacity planning.
• Automation or IaC experience (Python, Ansible, Terraform) is a strong plus.
• On-call rotations and incident management experience.
• Security fundamentals: least-privilege access and secure management planes.

Responsibilities

• AI Labs Network Architecture & Operations: design, build, and operate the AI lab network fabric, ensure high-throughput for GPU workloads and scalable segmentation.
• Datacenter & Colocation Infrastructure: own physical/logical infrastructure at Silicon Valley datacenter, include cross-connects, power/port planning, on-site buildouts.
• Server & Hardware Support: racking, cabling, firmware/BMC management, on-site troubleshooting.
• Corporate & Campus Networking: manage offices, LAN/WLAN, remote access, and site-to-site connectivity across environments.
• Network Security & Segmentation: implement firewall policies, ACLs, and secure management planes.
• Monitoring, Observability & Capacity: implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning.
• Standards, Documentation & Automation: create standards, runbooks, and automate repetitive tasks.
• Incident Response & On-Call: participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
