Job summary

NIH Federal Credit Union (NIHFCU) is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to manage Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, and the day-to-day performance of the organization’s network, voice system, and data storage in Rockville, MD. The role requires strong troubleshooting, security, and vendor coordination with on-call rotation.

You will lead Level-3 support, work with the Network Manager, and help ensure reliability for staff and members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent combination with 6+ years of IT experience
• 2-4 years of experience in financial services preferred
• 6+ years of hands-on enterprise network infrastructure experience
• 2+ years deploying and administering VMware
• Experience administering Active Directory, LDAP, Exchange, and Entra ID
• Knowledge of NetBackup, Storwize SAN, and Zerto preferred
• Experience designing and troubleshooting LAN/WAN/WLAN/MAN
• Experience with NGFW, IPS/IDS preferred
• Willingness to participate in rotating on-call schedule and respond to incidents

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Active Directory, Exchange DAG, SAN storage, and physical/virtual devices
• Monitor and tune network for performance; configure Cisco ASA, routers, switches
• Administer VMware infrastructure and plan for growth
• Support VOIP system and backup infrastructure
• Perform threat/vulnerability scanning and risk mitigation
• Create and maintain network documentation and disaster recovery plans
• Provide Level 3 support and vendor coordination
• Communicate effectively with all organizational levels
• Assist in project planning and cross-department coordination
• Maintain security rights per IT policies
