Job summary

New River Electrical Corporation is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Administrator to oversee the administration, maintenance, and security of all corporate infrastructure. You will lead a lean IT team, act as escalation point for Help Desk requests, and improve reliability, capacity planning, automation, and security posture across the environment.

Responsibilities include managing AD, patching, backups, and VPNs, while partnering with IT leadership on modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience on enterprise IT support teams.
• 7+ years of administration in infrastructure environments.
• Strong experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management (on‑prem and/or Entra ID).
• Hands‑on experience managing Windows Server environments, including patching, performance, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with virtualization platforms including VMware, vSphere, ESXi, and VNXe.
• Experience with endpoint management platforms and endpoint security tools.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity practices.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security principles, including access control, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, IaC – Terraform).
• Experience supporting remote field personnel.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).

Responsibilities

• Provide administration and support for Windows Client/Server environments.
• Manage Active Directory users and group policy objects.
• Monitor server infrastructure to minimize outages and downtime.
• Coordinate with security vendors to address tickets.
• Support and maintain various infrastructure appliances and hosted solutions.
• Maintain VoIP configuration and support.
• Serve as first point of contact for server‑related questions.
• Deploy and maintain deployment packages for endpoints and mobile devices.
• Remove retired systems and ensure data destruction.
• Train users and mentor Help Desk staff on escalated issues.
• Create and maintain up‑to‑date system documentation.
