Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Network Development Engineer to own and evolve AWS IP networks across public sector regions.

You will design, implement, and operate highly available networks, collaborating with software teams to automate deployments while driving reliability and scale across global infrastructure. The role requires hands-on, autonomous work ethic, strong communication, and the ability to lead cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience.
• 5+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 3+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience.
• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.
• Experience in IP networking technologies such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP, SLB, etc.

Responsibilities

• End to end ownership (design, engineering, implementation, operations escalation) of current and new IP networks.
• Lead design and evolution of highly available hyper-scale networks from concept to launch.
• Define and influence strategy within and outside the team.
• Lead project teams to deliver impactful benefits to customers.
• Work with network engineers and software developers to automate network deployment and operations.
• Drive operational excellence projects to improve network performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions; hire, mentor and coach engineers.
• Review and implement changes on the network.
