Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services is seeking a hands-on Senior Network Development Engineer to own critical AWS IP networks for public sector regions. You will lead design, engineering, and operations, collaborate across teams, and work on automating and scaling network solutions.

The role requires strong communication, project management, and a track record of delivering durable network solutions, with TS/SCI eligibility and sponsorship for clearance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 5+ years Linux/Unix environment experience.
• 3+ years of automation scripting (Python, Bash, Shell, Perl).
• Experience with IP networking technologies (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP, SLB).
• Network design, engineering, operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of highly available, hyper-scale networks, services, and deployment procedures.
• Draft and defend High Level and Low Level Design documents; build and test solutions.
• Define and influence strategy and roadmaps inside and outside the team.
• Lead project teams and partner with engineers to automate deployment and operations.
• Drive operational excellence projects to improve network performance.
• Troubleshoot complex problems and implement network changes.
• Hire, mentor, and coach engineers.
