Leidos Inc invites applications for a Sr. Network Design Engineer (Access) to support WAN/LAN networks, provide design and upgrade support, and act as SME for WAN/LAN tech and vendors. The role includes documentation, design briefing, and collaboration with the architecture team.
The position requires TS/SCI with poly, 16 years combined experience, DoD 8140 IAT2 compliance, and Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP/JNCIE training. Prior MPLS, BGP, and network optimization work are essential.
Qualifications
- TS/SCI clearance with poly required.
- 16 years of combined work history and education required (e.g., Doctorate + 8 years, Master’s + 10, Bachelor’s + 12, etc.).
- DoD 8140 IAT2 compliance required.
- Juniper certifications or training: JNCIA, JNCIP, and JNCIE.
- Experience developing and implementing methodologies for CAN/LAN and WAN networks.
- Familiar with firewalls and network timing.
- Experience with MPLS networks and MPLS VPN services.
- Knowledge of routing and switching protocols; extensive BGP experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and improve MPLS network architecture; maintain technical docs.
- Develop secure network designs aligned with STIGs and enterprise policies; obtain ATO for new devices/software.
- Lab/equipment/software testing and integration with NMS; security certification.
- Evaluate new network technologies, solutions and services.
- Document designs with diagrams, BOMs, cabling sheets, configurations; brief designs.
