Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a senior professional to supervise development, optimization, and validation of network coding applications and interfaces across the enterprise. You will apply advanced ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS knowledge to ensure compliant coding and strong revenue cycle performance, collaborating with HIM, CDI, RI, IT, and vendors.

You will lead system validation rules, automation, and improvements, while aligning with regulatory reporting requirements and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years in acute care coding or related areas.
• Experience translating operational needs into system configurations and edits.
• Experience automating coding edits or CDS.
• Experience collaborating with IT, HIM, RI, CDI, PFS, vendors, and leadership.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and engage stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, CMS methods and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and optimization of network coding apps and interfaces.
• Evaluate coding workflows and configure system functionality per requirements.
• Lead development of validation rules, automation, and edits for compliant coding.
• Collaborate with HIM, RI, CDI, IT, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Assess departmental workflows and implement sustainable process improvements.
• Support regulatory reporting and quality programs across the network.
