Job summary

UCI Health, part of the University of California, Irvine, seeks a Facility Coding Supervisor to lead inpatient and outpatient facility coding across the network. You will oversee CAC technology, optimize coding workflows, and ensure regulatory compliance while guiding a team of coding professionals.

The role requires strong CAC knowledge, extensive acute care coding experience, and certifications (RHIA/RHIT/CCS).

Qualifications

• Strong CAC functionality and coding workflow knowledge.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification.
• Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Minimum of five (5) years of acute care hospital facility coding experience (inpatient and outpatient).
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and Official Coding Guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to supervise coding staff and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to independently research issues and develop solutions.
• Ability to collaborate across the Health System and other UC campuses.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inpatient and outpatient facility coding staff.
• Coordinate workforce resources and monitor coding performance.
• Oversee CAC technology across the network.
• Analyze coding production, quality, and audit findings to improve workflows.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and partner with leadership on coding initiatives.
