Job summary

CA CI is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to support the GMOS contract for the Department of State. The role focuses on securing and modernizing network infrastructure, overseeing a high-performing team, and aligning with ITSM practices to deliver mission-critical IT services.

The position requires an Active Secret Clearance, 8+ years of related experience, and hands-on expertise with Palo Alto, F5 BIG-IP, and API Gateway. Expect on-site work in Ashburn, VA with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of related experience or equiv.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Experience with next-gen firewalls (Palo Alto, F5 BIG-IP, API Gateway) and advanced network security implementations.
• Expertise in L2/L3 networking, fiber optic cabling, and disaster recovery configurations.
• Strong bandwidth management, capacity planning, and coordination with government network providers.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage NGFWs including Palo Alto, F5 BIG-IP, and API Gateway for security.
• Troubleshoot firewall issues with DT teams and liaise with Government agencies.
• Install, configure, and maintain internal wiring, fiber cabling, and L2/3 devices across enterprise infra.
• Install and configure load balancers and API Gateway appliances or virtual instances in data centers, cloud, or hybrid setups.
• Track component failures and escalate to meet SLA thresholds.
• Coordinate with DT to plan bandwidth upgrades and explore AI-based optimization.
