Job summary

Vertiv's Electrical Reliability Services (ERS) and High Voltage Maintenance (HVM) division seeks a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing with NETA III/IV certification. You will lead acceptance, commissioning, and testing on high voltage systems, travel regionally, and mentor junior technicians.

Qualifications

NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF, and equivalents.
Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
Ability to read and interpret one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
