Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer – Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) in the U.S. with up to 75% travel. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems, develop engineering reports, and lead testing projects for critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification (current and in good standing).
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Experience with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
