Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) seeks a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to support regional and national projects in Texas. Travel up to 75% with duties including acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.

You will conduct protective relay testing, power quality studies, and report findings, mentoring junior staff and leading project teams while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficient with NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Experience with power system studies and relay testing.
• Valid driver's license; willingness to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analyses.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical to microprocessor-based).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers, switchgear, cables, and breakers.
• Analyze results and write comprehensive engineering reports with findings.
• Troubleshoot time‑critical electrical failures.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field; lead multi-discipline teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, and OSHA.
