Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior .NET Developer to design, build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using C#, .NET and ASP.NET Web API. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams across technology, delivery and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performing software.

Hybrid work in the United States is available, with some roles requiring in-person interviews. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of backend development experience, strong problem-solving and effective

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of backend development with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Web API.
• Experience building and integrating REST APIs and using SQL Server.
• Experience with Git and unit testing practices.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and cloud platforms.
• DevOps awareness and production support experience.
• Banking/financial services experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain backend services, APIs and components using C#, .NET and ASP.NET Web API.
• Write scalable, secure and high-performance code and contribute to modules and features.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing and troubleshooting to improve quality and stability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and support delivery priorities.
• Work independently while supporting overlapping time zones when required by project and client needs.
