Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation invites a Senior Software Engineer to join the Product Engineering Operations team in Houston. You will design and build enterprise-scale solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform and Azure, enabling intelligent workflows, real-time data capture, and secure system integrations.

You will mentor engineers, drive modern software engineering practices, and contribute to platform expansion and automation initiatives across AI and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise integrations using REST APIs, Azure services, Microsoft integration technologies, and modern integration patterns.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, .NET, JSON, and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies, ALM, CI/CD, deployment automation, and DevSecOps.
• Strong understanding of Power Platform security, authentication, authorization, and secure development practices.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues in enterprise environments.
• Power Platform Developer Associate (PL‑400) and/or Azure Developer Associate (AZ‑204) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leads end-to-end efforts, delegating, reviewing, and delivering medium complexity features.
• Executes a defined software engineering roadmap and contributes to tech strategy.
• Codes, debugs, tests, and troubleshoots with moderate to high complexity.
• Suggests improvements to SDLC and agile engineering practices.
• Demonstrates features, designs tests, and prototyping with cross-functional teams.
• Translates designs into design specifications with users.
• Plans delivery of high-quality solutions, estimates effort, and updates specs.
• Implements new architectures and standards aligned to business goals.
• Documents software design and ensures secure development practices.
• Champions AI, automation, and continuous improvement in software processes.
• Mentors junior engineers and fosters learning and growth.
