Job summary

Shive-Hattery is seeking a motivated NEPA Specialist to lead environmental permitting and NEPA compliance for transportation projects. You will coordinate fieldwork, reporting, and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure regulatory adherence.

The role emphasizes client engagement and cross-disciplinary teamwork. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of permitting experience, strong NEPA knowledge, and a proactive approach to regulatory compliance and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, biology, ecology, soils, environmental science, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Working knowledge of NEPA compliance in accordance with FHWA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead NEPA planning and permitting for transportation projects.
• Coordinate fieldwork, reporting, and data collection.
• Provide technical guidance to staff and engage with clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate environmental considerations on projects.
