Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Senior NEPA Planner to shape the delivery of major transportation projects in the Southeast, including Louisiana and Georgia, with hybrid or remote work options. You will guide NEPA documentation from planning through environmental approval, coordinating with historians, archaeologists, ecologists, and analysts.

The role requires 8–15 years of NEPA experience, a degree in Planning or Environmental Sciences, and travel up to 25% (GDOT experience preferred).

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of professional experience in NEPA planning and analysis.
• Ability to travel up to 25% including overnight trips.
• Experience with GDOT is preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality work products.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental planning for Southeast DOT projects.
• Prepare NEPA documents: CE/EA/EIS/FONSI, and programmatic exclusions.
• Lead coordination within interdisciplinary NEPA teams.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Read and interpret transportation plans and specs.
• Prepare public-involvement materials and respond to comments.
• Maintain DOT updates, Primavera schedules, and coordination minutes.
• Support business development with technical and fee proposals.
