Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking an Environmental Project Manager / Senior NEPA Specialist to lead complex environmental projects across energy, infrastructure, and transportation sectors.

You will drive NEPA deliverables, manage scope, budget, and client relationships while mentoring staff and expanding services in Central Oregon and the Northwest. The role emphasizes project leadership, technical delivery, and business development, with an opportunity for annual bonus based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, health and safety, or related field.
• Eight+ years of environmental consulting experience with seven+ years in NEPA and federal work.
• Experience delivering NEPA documentation with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Experience with environmental assessments, regulatory compliance, hazardous materials, or related services.
• Strong writing, leadership, and client communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships with accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental projects from initiation through completion, including NEPA reviews, permitting, and compliance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, and agencies to support design and construction.
• Develop and deliver NEPA documents, reports, work plans, and submittals.
• Manage field activities, data collection, and regulatory coordination.
• Provide mentorship to project managers and staff.
• Grow Apex’s NEPA practice regionally and nationally.
